Although the company has an ISO 9000 certification, its Energy Management System (EMS) does not serve as a catalyst for change. One of the most important issues is energy efficiency, an area in which the company does not yet perform as well as it could and which could be improved. This series of sessions is focused on the company?s technical staff.</p>\n<p>The person responsible for KOSTAL?s the Human Resource area indicated that the main focus with regard to the environment should be energy consumption. The energy that the company uses comes mainly from electricity and gasoil. There is a lack of knowledge about what could be done to increase the company?s energy efficiency.</p>\n<p>Because the company lacks basics knowledge and expertise with regard to reducing its energy consumption, the decision was made to focus on the area of energy efficiency.</p>\n<h2>How was Microtraining applied?</h2>\n<p>The trainer has mainly used tests and PowerPoint slides to explain the basic information, as well as information from within the company with regards to its problems concerning energy consumption, using graphics and examples.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Introduction: Microtraining, explanation of the training content of the module and of the importance of energy efficiency in social, economical and environmental terms</li>\n <li>Sup-topic 1: How to obtain the information needed to plan the increase in energy efficiency I</li>\n <li>Sup-topic 2: How to obtain the information needed to plan the increase in energy efficiency II</li>\n <li>Sup-topic 3: How to invest in energy efficiency</li>\n <li>Sup-topic 4: Tools for energy efficiency: acclimatization</li>\n <li>Sup-topic 5: Tools for energy efficiency: lightning and power</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What were the experiences?</h2>\n<p>Although the relevant staff continues to work on the company?s energy policy, not concrete actions have as yet been implemented.
