Microtraining is een leeroplossing waarvan het concept gebaseerd is op de volgende constateringen:
- het meeste geld voor trainen en leren in organisaties wordt uitgegeven aan formeel leren, terwijl verreweg het meeste leren informeel plaatsvindt (bestedingsparadox);
- people forget most of the information and knowledge that is being told to them;
- remember a lot if they explain it themselves or can apply the knowledge in practice, through activating workforms like role-playing or interactive discussions;
- there is often not much time available for training and/or learning in organizations.
