Determining the prior situation

In phase 1, the subject of the Microtraining sessions is determined on the basis of the objectives of the organisation and the expectations of the participants. In addition, the indicators for the evaluation are determined. Based on these indicators the situation prior to Microtraining is determined.

Interview with the manager

The person responsible for Microtraining interviews the manager concerning the desired objectives, indicators and subjects for the sessions. Seven questions are answered.

  1. Please mention five activities of the organization that might influence the sustainability objectives of the organization. Please order these activities according to their importance.
  2. What topics should be covered in Microtraining on the short term?
  3. What are the possible objectives of the Microtraining sessions?
  4. If possible, describe quantitative indicators for the evaluation of the objectives.
  5. Describe the current state of affairs based of these indicators.
  6. What is the target group of the Microtraining sessions?
  7. Define what the participants should be able to, or should be aware of, after the Microtraining sessions.

Expectations and ideas of participants

During the introductory session, the Microtrainer informs the participants about the subject and objective of the sessions.

  • The participants provide their ideas about the way the intended objective can be achieved and how this can be measured.
  • The participants indicate what they expect the results of the Microtraining will be for their department, for their own position and at a personal level.

The expectations and ideas of the participants can be recorded by filling in a questionnaire, but also, for example, by making a joint mindmap.
