The module was aimed at the council\'s administrative staff, who have to answer questions citizens have with regard to the environment, for instance which container they should use to dispose of their waste. The aim of this module is to train the staff regarding sustainability<sup class=\"glossary-indicator\" title=\"\">i</sup>-related issues, better to prepare them for the questions they may encounter.</p>\n<p>With the help of the external consultant, Sabadell City Council identified some topics that could be addressed via the Microtraining sessions. The underlying assumptions were that a public administration has to be informed about the environments needs of it\'s citizens and that the awareness of the council\'s administrative staff should be increased to improve the city\'s environmental management.</p>\n<p>The representatives of the city council felt that there were a number of specific topics that could be developed for its new public environmental policies, most importantly in the area of water management - because in the region, water is a limited natural resource - energy efficiency, waste recycling and noise pollution in the city\'s streets. To explain the relevance of these issues, an important element was to provide an introduction to the area of sustainability-related concepts and policies in relation to the administrative staff of the Sabadell City Council. &nbsp;</p>\n<h2>How was Microtraining applied?</h2>\n<p>In the first session, the trainer used a number of role plays to assess the individual participants\' level of knowledge regarding sustainability and climate change (for more information, see the website of the Catalonia Province). This approach made it more interesting for the participants and made it possible to improve the group commitment.
